Asian Ombudsman visited Bolgar city

Kazan hosted the 19th meeting of the Board of directors of the Asian Ombudsman Association and International Ombudsman Institute meeting on August 10-11, 2016.  The second day of the event took place in Bolgar city, where a meeting of the "round table" on "Inter-ethnic and inter-confessional accord as the key to successful development of the Republic of Tatarstan". Representatives of Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, Iran, China, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Korea, Malaysia and Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives of Tatarstan authorities took part in the event. The head of the Department of internal policy of the Office of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Terentyev presented his speech on the implementation of national and religious policy in Tatarstan. “Tatarstan is home to 173 nationalities. The key role in the implementation of the national policy is played by the municipal bodies and state authorities”- noted Mr. Terentyev. Also, the moderator of the round table spoke about the success of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan and Kazan archdiocese.
