Today in Yekaterinburg, I moderated the section "Social Adaptation of Special Military Operation Veterans" within the framework of the All-Russian Coordinating Council of Human Rights Commissioners in the Subjects of the Russian Federation.

We discussed how work is currently being done to rehabilitate Special Military Operation veterans - people who often return from the front not only with physical injuries, but also with a difficult emotional experience. Currently, rehabilitation is based on general approaches to the rehabilitation of disabled people, laid down in the provisions of the Federal Law "On Social Protection of Disabled People in the Russian Federation" and is carried out within the framework of individual rehabilitation and habilitation programs for disabled people, which are developed by medical and social expertise institutions.

We also paid attention to regional digital tools. I shared the experience of Tatarstan - since 2012, we have had the "Public Control" system in place, through which citizens, including families of Special Military Operation participants, can receive assistance in a short time. Similar mechanisms exist in other regions - in the Sverdlovsk region, for example, the mobile application "Personal account of a combat veteran" is successfully operating.

Special attention was paid to the role of non-profit organizations. Their participation in supporting veterans cannot be overestimated. Public projects allow for targeted assistance within the framework of various specializations - employment, education, leisure, solving pressing social problems.
