The School of Legal Knowledge held a class on consumer rights protection

10 April 2026, Friday

Today's Legal Knowledge School session for Third Age University students covered two relevant topics: "Consumer Rights: What Everyone Needs to Know" and "Add to Cart: Rules for Using Online Shopping Platforms".

The lecture was delivered by representatives of the Office of Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) for the Republic of Tatarstan. During the meeting, key consumer protection issues were discussed, including the procedure for returning and replacing defective goods, warranty periods, and the procedure for dealing with defective goods. The provisions of the Law "On the Protection of Consumer Rights" were reviewed and the timeframes for satisfying consumer claims were explained, so that students could confidently assert their rights.

Special attention was paid to practical aspects and how to properly file a claim for a return or exchange of goods.

We also introduced our students to remote sales, which is particularly in demand today. We reviewed the purchase and payment procedures, as well as the seller's responsibilities in online trading.

At the end of the session, the audience asked questions about the activities of Rospotrebnadzor, food quality control, and the return of imported equipment in the event of a breakdown. All questions were answered in detail.

If you have any further questions, you can ask them during our Legal Aid Day, which will take place on April 15, 2026, at the United Russia Public Support Headquarters in the Republic of Tatarstan (31/7 Karl Marx Street, Kazan) from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
