3 June 2026, Wednesday

Today, a joint meeting of the State Council Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Ecology, Nature Management, Agro-Industrial and Food Policy and the Committee's Expert Council was held.

During the meeting, issues of wildlife conservation, reproduction, and use were discussed. It was noted that, thanks to ongoing conservation measures, the republic continues to show positive population growth for several wild animal species.

To create favorable habitat conditions for animals, biotechnical facilities are being built on an ongoing basis, and wildlife is being fed.

Particular attention was paid to biodiversity conservation. Currently, there are 200 specially protected natural areas in Tatarstan, providing conditions for the preservation of natural complexes and rare animal and plant species.

In 2025, staff of the Republic's Committee on Bioresources identified more than 1,600 administrative violations during on-site surveys and initiated 50 criminal cases.
