27 February 2026, Friday

Today, the traditional Legal Aid Day for international students was held at the Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev.

I briefed the students on the activities of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Tatarstan, the situations in which they can contact us, and how we assist in protecting the rights of foreign citizens.

We also discussed the stay of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation, their rights, and the guarantees provided by law.

The event was also attended by the Consul General of Turkmenistan in Kazan, Guych Archayev, and representatives of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan and the House of Friendship of Peoples of Tatarstan.

The students asked questions regarding obtaining temporary residence permits, temporary residence permits for the purpose of studying in Russia, registration with the MFC, and employment for international students. All questions were discussed in detail, and the students received the necessary clarifications in accordance with Russian legislation.

International students are an important part of the republic's educational and cultural landscape, so it's essential that they feel protected and have access to timely legal assistance and support!
