Education for children with disabilities is an opportunity to socialize, develop communication skills, reveal their abilities and feel part of society.
A new cycle of classes at the School of Legal Knowledge for parents of disabled children has started, and today the first class was held on the topic: "Packaging a backpack of knowledge: preparing for the school year, the procedure for registering a disability group and passing the psychological-medical-pedagogical commission. " According to a good tradition, the class was held together with our public assistant - Marina Grigorieva, the chairperson of ARSI, and the director of the psychological-medical-pedagogical commission Center of the Republic of Tatarstan Natalya Ermolaeva acted as a lecturer.
We discussed in detail how the psychological-medical-pedagogical commission works and what it is, the work regulations, innovations in legislation, main directions and when parents should apply for an opinion. At the end of the session, the participants asked their questions, which concerned the possibility of registering for the psychological-medical-pedagogical commission, receiving a referral for the psychological-medical-pedagogical commission upon entering the first grade, what parents should do if the school offers to switch to home schooling, using the Wechsler test for the psychological-medical-pedagogical commission, receiving a psychological-medical-pedagogical commission conclusion at an earlier date on the recommendation of the school, and up to what grade one can study with a psychological-medical-pedagogical commission conclusion.
It is gratifying to see that the meeting was useful and relevant for parents. New classes are ahead, which, I am sure, will be no less interesting and important for all participants.
