Today, together with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Tatarstan Andrey Kondratyev, we held a joint briefing at the information center "Tochka Vybory". We discussed the protection of voters' rights, ensuring the accessibility of polling stations and preparation for elections at all levels.
The right to vote is one of the basic rights of a citizen. And our task as institutions working for the benefit of society is to ensure that every person, regardless of age, health condition, place of residence, can exercise this right freely.
It is gratifying that the republic is consistently eliminating barriers to the implementation of citizens' electoral rights. Thus, 94% of polling stations are already located on the first floors of buildings. In 2025, 1,240 polling stations will be equipped with special booths for voters using wheelchairs, Braille stencils, information materials in large print, as well as video communication with a sign language interpreter will appear.
Particular attention is also paid to those who are in pre-trial detention centers. Together with the Federal Penitentiary Service, temporary polling stations will be organized again so that voters' rights are ensured there as well.
We can already see that the movement is going in the right direction - the accessibility of polling stations is increasing, conditions are being created for all categories of voters. It is important to continue this work so that each person can truly exercise their voting rights.
