24 June 2025, Tuesday

Today, a conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Institute of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan opened in the Kazan City Hall. The theme of the event was "Modern Trends in Human Rights Protection: Current Problems and Prospects."

The opening began with a performance by the children's vocal ensemble "Assorti" of the Charm Arts Center - bright, warm and soulful. We thank the guys for the mood with which our day began.

In my welcoming speech, I noted: over a quarter of a century, the Institute has come a long way - from its formation to international recognition. Today, we are actively working with citizens' appeals, developing legal education, supporting participants in a special military operation and their families, and building a dialogue with federal and international structures.

The conference is attended by representatives of government bodies, human rights commissioners from 44 regions of Russia and the Republic of Abkhazia, consuls of foreign states, public figures, and the scientific community. Many warm words were spoken about the institution of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan.

A busy program lies ahead: sessions, exchange of experience and lively discussion of current challenges in the field of human rights.
