Today, a joint meeting of the Committee on Law and Order and the Expert Council was held in the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan. The key topic was ensuring the safety of people on water bodies.
Since the beginning of 2025, 19 people have died on the water in the republic, which is 42% more than in the same period last year. The main causes of tragedies are swimming in unequipped places and violating the rules for using small vessels.
To prevent accidents, municipalities approve annual risk reduction plans. In recent years, 29 new beaches have been created in the republic, and their total number has doubled since 2018.
The meeting also considered bills on amendments to the republican law on the provision of free legal assistance to citizens in the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as on amendments to the Code of the Republic of Tatarstan on Administrative Offenses, which provides for an increase in the fine for violating the rules in paid parking lots for legal entities.
