Today I took part in the Third All-Russian Social and Rehabilitation Forum of the All-Russian Society of the Blind, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the All-Russian Society of the Blind.
More than 7.6 thousand visually impaired people live in Tatarstan, and we have built a stable partnership with the All-Russian Society of the Blind. Representatives of the All-Russian Society of the Blind are members of the Coordinating Council for Disabled Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, and participate in the development and implementation of state programs.
The All-Russian Society of the Blind actively works in municipalities, is a member of commissions, participates in organizing cultural and sports events, competitions and festivals, such as "Abilympics", "Chulman Dulkynnary" and "Podsolnushki".
The Republic has a Republican Center for Social Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired with branches in five cities, and more than 350 people use its services annually. At the same time, the employment system is developing. In 2024, the employment rate of people with disabilities in Tatarstan was almost 33% - this is the best indicator in the Volga Federal District.
The All-Russian Society of the Blind is an example of how a social movement can truly change people's lives!
