The plenary session of the XVI International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum" was held in Kazan
Today, the plenary session of the XVI International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum" was held in Kazan. The venue was the Ilgam Shakirov Concert Hall in the Kazan Expo IEC.
The session opened with a reading of the Koran performed by the head of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims, Mufti of the Republic of Tatarstan Kamil hazrat Samigullin. The moderator was the Secretary General of the General Council of Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI) Abdelilah Belatik.
The address of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the participants of the forum was delivered by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin. Greetings were also heard from the National Leader of the Turkmen People Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim.
The Rais of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Strategic Vision Group "Russia - Islamic World" Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that KazanForum has become an important international platform uniting partners from dozens of Islamic states. He noted the growth of trade turnover between Tatarstan and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the active development of digital and IT areas, as well as the role of Kazan as the cultural capital of the Islamic world next year.
