Two raids on places where beggars congregate took place on the streets of Kazan.
The Ombudsman and other State bodies have received appeals for assistance to beggars and their livelihood. In the first six months of 2023, we received 646 such reports through EGIS GLONASS +112.
Of course, special attention was paid to begging involving children. The Commissioners decided to resume raids to clarify the circumstances that had forced people to go out and ask for help. We approached and offered help with paperwork, housing, what their family needed. A representative of the Uzbek diaspora in the Republic of Tatarstan reported that people in need of assistance could always turn to the House of Friendship of Peoples.
