Happy Victory Day!

9 May 2026, Saturday

Dear veterans, home front workers, and esteemed residents of Tatarstan!

I heartily congratulate you on the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War!

May 9th is a sacred date for every family, for our entire country. It is a day of remembrance, pride, and deep gratitude to the generation of victors, who, through incredible courage and dedication, defended the freedom and independence of their homeland.

Tatarstan made an enormous contribution to the common Victory. More than 700,000 of our fellow countrymen went to the front, and more than half of them never returned home. During the most difficult years of the war, the republic lived with one goal: to help the front.

Today, our shared duty is to preserve the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War, carefully pass on the memory of the heroism of the Soviet people to the younger generation, instill respect for our history, and strengthen the unity of the peoples of our country. This is especially important today, in the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.

We express special gratitude to the participants of the special military operation. Today, they continue the work of the Victorious Generation, courageously defending the security and sovereignty of our country. As during the Great Patriotic War, Tatarstan has once again united around a common goal. Thousands of residents of the republic are helping soldiers and their families, supporting the front, demonstrating true unity, compassion, and fortitude.

The Year of Military and Labor Valor in the Republic of Tatarstan is another opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to all who have served and continue to serve the Motherland—on the front lines, in the home front, in peaceful labor, and in military affairs.

We bow deeply to our veterans. Eternal memory to the fallen heroes.

With all our hearts, I wish you good health, peaceful skies, and prosperity!

Happy Victory Day!
