The State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan also held a joint meeting of the Committee on Education, Culture, Science, and National Issues and the Committee's Expert Council.
During the meeting, the implementation of national projects, including "Youth and Children," "Family," and "Personnel," as well as the state programs "Education Development" and "Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation," were discussed. In 2025, over 15 billion rubles in federal funds have been allocated to the republic's education system, with 2.5 billion rubles co-financing from the republican budget.
It was noted that approximately 77,000 teaching staff work in Tatarstan's education system. In the 2025/26 academic year, 45 higher education institutions operate in the republic, enrolling over 155,000 students, including over 20,000 foreign citizens.
The development of educational infrastructure continues. In 2025, 10 new facilities were commissioned, including kindergartens and schools with more than 5,000 places.
Special attention is being paid to the preservation and development of native languages. The enrollment rate for children in native languages has remained stable in recent years.
