At a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, the effectiveness of tax incentives for small technology companies, which contribute to the digital transformation of the region's economy, was discussed.
It was noted that more than 3,500 companies operate in the information technology sector in the republic, and the industry's tax revenues amounted to 42 billion rubles, a 20% increase. Small technology companies receive a range of support measures, including grants, preferential loans, and access to development institution programs. Furthermore, accredited companies can take advantage of preferential IT mortgages, which more than 4,600 specialists in Tatarstan have already used.
During the discussion, current challenges facing the industry were also identified, including increased insurance premiums and changes in the tax burden for certain categories of companies.
At the meeting, it was also emphasized that achieving technological sovereignty is a key strategic objective. The republic is working to improve legislation supporting technology companies.
Two draft laws have been prepared as part of this work. The first bill proposes amendments to the Law on Innovation Activity and has already been supported by parliament and signed by the Rais of the Republic in November 2025. The document establishes the foundations for regional support for small technology companies. The second bill aims to introduce a specific support measure: a profit tax break.
