We held a Legal Aid Day for international students at the Kazan State Institute of Culture.
Representatives of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan and the House of Peoples' Friendship participated in the event and shared information.
During the meeting, I informed the international students about the activities of the Office of the Human Rights Commissioner of the Republic of Tatarstan, the tasks we face, and how and in what cases we can assist in cases of violations of the rights of foreign citizens. I also explained the procedure for contacting us.
Following the event, the international students asked questions about registering with migration authorities, undergoing medical examinations, applying for temporary residence permits for educational purposes, extending their temporary stay in the Russian Federation, and verifying their data through Gosuslugi. We answered all their questions, and the students received the necessary clarifications.
It is important to us that international students understand the legal support they can count on and where to turn if their rights are violated.
