At a meeting of the Expert Council, Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor Roman Terekhov spoke about cooperation with the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan in the area of environmental protection.
In 2025, the Environmental Prosecutor's Office, together with the Office of the Tatarstan Commissioner for Human Rights , addressed environmental issues that had generated public attention, including citizen complaints through the SIS RT "Public Control" information system. A representative of the Office participated in inspections of pollution of the Kazanka River in the Arsky Municipal District and air pollution in the Vysokogorsky Municipal District.
Following the inspections, violations of environmental legislation were identified, prosecutorial action was taken, those responsible were held administratively liable, and work is underway to eliminate the violations and compensate for the damage caused.
Roman Terekhov emphasized that the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office highly values its established collaboration with the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Tatarstan, which allows it to promptly respond to citizens' requests and effectively protect their right to a healthy environment.
