Today, at a meeting of the Expert Council, we summarized the work of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2025 and outlined priority tasks for 2026.

The past year was a landmark one for us – the Commissioner's Office celebrated its 25th anniversary. In 2025, the Commissioner's Office received 8,401 citizen inquiries. The most pressing issues were the protection of the rights of military personnel and conscripts, housing and utilities, social security, the rights of convicts, and the right to housing.

During the year, we held 52 personal consultations, during which 523 people contacted us, carried out 411 verification activities, and established eight telephone hotlines, which received 387 inquiries.

In our work, we paid special attention to protecting the rights of military personnel and conscripts, supporting participants in the Special Military Unit and their families, social security issues, housing rights, and protecting the rights of convicts. Based on the results of this work, a draft annual report was prepared and proposals were formulated that will form the basis of our activities in 2026.
