A meeting of the Board of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites was held at the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan, where the results of the agency's work for 2025 were summarized.
It was noted that the republic had achieved a record investment in cultural heritage preservation – 5.6 billion rubles, approximately half of which came from private investors. The number of cultural heritage sites increased to 2026 by the beginning of 2026.
In 2025, 34 sites were brought out of disrepair and given a new lease of life. Work to preserve UNESCO World Heritage sites continued: restoration projects for the Kazan Kremlin walls were approved, and scheduled maintenance work was completed in Bolgar.
