Today, a joint final board meeting of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan was held at the Bashir Rameyev IT Park to discuss the results of 2025 and objectives for 2026.
Currently, forests in the Republic of Tatarstan occupy 1,609,000 hectares, with a forest cover of 22.5%. In 2025, the region launched the regional project "Forest Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan" as part of the federal project "Forest Conservation" of the national project "Environmental Well-Being."
By the end of the year, forest restoration work had been completed on an area of 5,335 hectares, including the creation of protective forest plantations and compensatory afforestation. As part of the national project "Environmental Well-Being," 12,100 kg of seeds were harvested and 32.6 million seedlings and saplings, primarily of coniferous species, were grown.
Particular attention was paid to federal state forest monitoring and protection. In 2025, more than 31,000 patrols were conducted, 95 violations of forest legislation were identified, and fines totaling 1.1 million rubles were imposed.
During the 197-day fire season, forest monitoring was intensified, including aerial and ground patrols. Thanks to interagency cooperation and a range of preventive measures, emergency situations were avoided in the republic.
The board meeting also noted the expansion of support measures for young forestry professionals. For example, one-time payments have been increased to 300,000 rubles for college graduates and 500,000 rubles for university graduates.
