The appeal was resolved positively!
Recently, we received an appeal from a resident of Kazan, citizen E., who was concerned about the legality of the museum of executions and torture. The appeal raised issues of compliance of the museum's expositions and promotional materials with ethical and cultural norms accepted in society, as well as the absence of age restrictions when displaying them.
The applicant stated that the museum's windows depicted scenes of torture and abuse of people, as well as advertising leaflets with instruments of torture and narcotic substances, the contents of which could harm minors. According to citizen E., such materials violated the requirements of Federal Law No. 38-FZ "On Advertising" and were distributed without regard to age restrictions.
In order to protect the rights of citizens, we have contacted the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service for the Republic of Tatarstan with a request to conduct an audit and, if there are grounds, take response measures.
Based on the results of the review of the appeal, the commission of the Tatarstan Federal Antimonopoly Service recognized the advertising distributed by the Museum of executions and torture as inappropriate. It was decided to initiate a case on violation of the requirements of Federal Law No. 38-FZ "On Advertising". A corresponding order has been issued to the owner of the museum, and the issue of bringing her to administrative responsibility is also being considered.
