Dear residents of the Republic!
On December 10, the entire world celebrates International Human Rights Day – a date that reminds us that respect for human rights and dignity is the foundation of a peaceful and just life. It was on December 10, 1948, that the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights – a document that has become a moral compass for the entire world and defined modern understanding of the rights and freedoms of every individual.
This year, the office of the Human Rights Commissioner in the Republic of Tatarstan celebrated its 25th anniversary. This marks a quarter century of ongoing dialogue with citizens, constructive interaction with government agencies, and the development of human rights mechanisms. Over these years, extensive and comprehensive work has been accomplished: from assistance in specific life situations to systemic initiatives and proposals aimed at improving legislation and strengthening citizens' trust in the state.
On this day, I wish all residents of the Republic of Tatarstan peace, prosperity, and human warmth. May our republic remain a place where people feel protected, respect human dignity, value justice, and are ready to hear everyone's voice.
Happy International Human Rights Day!
