I participated in Legal Aid Day, which was held at the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan.
Representatives from the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Justice of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the Federal Penitentiary Service's Medical Unit No. 16 answered the inmates' questions. Colleagues thoroughly explained their rights and opportunities under current legislation.
Questions related to assistance in obtaining a disability pension, assistance in purchasing prosthetics and orthopedic shoes, employment opportunities for disabled people under the Law "On Probation in the Russian Federation," assistance in filing a complaint with the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, and assistance in registering for housing (as an orphan). They also sought legal advice on a criminal case.
Each inmate received the necessary explanations, and was provided with guidelines for further legal action.
