Legal Aid Days for International Students Launched at Kazan State Power Engineering University

17 November 2025, Monday

Student events continue, and today we launched Legal Aid Days for International Students at Kazan State Power Engineering University!

At the meeting, I described the work of our Office, the issues we can address, and how we help protect the rights of international students studying in the Republic. We discussed the specifics of their stay in Russia, their rights, guarantees, and the procedure for seeking support.

Representatives of the Embassy and Consulate of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the House of Peoples' Friendship also delivered the lecture.

Following the presentations, the students asked questions. They were interested in visa and residence permit applications, documents required for temporary residence permits for educational purposes, inviting parents to the Russian Federation, the inability to register with migration authorities, living in Russia after university graduation, and the lack of scholarships for students applying under the "Compatriots" program. We tried to answer all questions clearly and provide guidance on where to turn in controversial situations.

The more international students know about their rights and opportunities, the easier it is for them to adapt and feel confident in Tatarstan.
