I also spoke about our activities today at a class at the School of Legal Knowledge at the University of the Third Age.
The event, attended by approximately 70 people, covered two topics: "About the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Tatarstan: Basics of Work, Tasks, and Methods of Protecting Citizens' Rights" and "Providing Free Legal Aid to the Population."
I explained to the audience the core work of our institute: the tasks we face, the types of requests we handle, and how citizens can seek protection of their rights.
I also introduced the participants to the Tatarstan SIS RT "Public Control," where I have been the chief moderator since 2013. I explained how this system works and the opportunities it offers to senior citizens.
First Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilya Gomzik also gave a lecture. He spoke in detail about the ministry's activities, as well as the organization of free legal aid in the republic.
At the end of the session, the participants actively asked questions, such as how to schedule an appointment with the Commissioner, what documents are best to prepare, whether it's possible to show up without an appointment, whether a state fee is required to attend a free legal aid day, and which website to use for information on land grants for large families.
I'm very pleased with how attentive and interested our participants are in legal matters! This inspires us to continue holding such meetings and expand their topics.
