I took part in the section of the August meeting of education workers, dedicated to the activities of guardianship and trusteeship authorities in the Republic of Tatarstan, on the topic: "Protecting childhood: strategies, practices, resources".
In my speech, I talked about the main areas of our work: monitoring the living conditions of children in institutions, observing their housing and property rights, analyzing work with foster and guardian families. I separately touched on the topic of post-boarding school support, since many children are not ready for independent life after leaving the institution.
I paid special attention to the need for an individual approach, closer interaction between schools and orphanages, as well as systemic support for graduates with the participation of teachers, psychologists, mentors.
I am convinced that only by combining the efforts of guardianship authorities, the education system, health care, social services, caring people can we create conditions for each child in which he will feel needed, loved and protected.
