Meeting with representatives of the State Foundation “Defenders of the Fatherland”
Providing free legal aid is one of the most important areas of the Commissioner's activities
Since March 1, 2024, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan has been included in the list of participants of the free legal aid system. However, even before the adoption of amendments to the law “On Providing Free Legal Aid in the Republic of Tatarstan” we provided all kinds of assistance to our citizens, stateless persons and foreign citizens.
Today in the walls of the Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tatarstan we had a meeting with representatives of the State Foundation “Defenders of the Fatherland”, where we touched upon the topic of providing free legal assistance to the participants of the State Defense Forces, as well as members of their families. I want to note that this category of citizens was included in the list of persons who have the right to free legal aid, on our initiative at the end of 2022.
I told about our close cooperation with the branch of the Foundation and its head Guzel Udachina. We have signed an agreement on cooperation with them, we conduct joint receptions of citizens, social coordinators participate in our “hotlines”, as well as practicing their participation in the classes of Schools of legal knowledge, etc.
