A resident of the Republic of Tatarstan, citizen A., contacted me, expressing her disagreement with the unjustified assignment of the status of "absent without leave" to her husband, a participant in a special military operation.
According to the complaint, the serviceman departed for a combat mission in January 2025, after which contact was lost. Despite this, he was assigned the status of "absent without leave." The complainant repeatedly appealed to various authorities, but the issue remained unresolved for a long time. Moreover, due to this status, the serviceman's family was unable to access the social benefits provided by law, including payments due to the minor child of a missing participant in a special military operation.
Moreover, despite the previous measures taken by the Totsk Garrison Military Prosecutor's Office and the recognition of the "absent without leave" status as unfounded, the violations were not rectified, and the serviceman's status remained unchanged.
The situation in which the serviceman's family found itself could not escape my attention. In this regard, I have contacted the Chief Military Prosecutor of the Russian Federation, Valery Georgievich Petrov, with a request to investigate the presented arguments and take prosecutorial action.
Following this joint work, the serviceman, citizen R., was removed from the list of those who left their military unit without permission. Furthermore, in order to restore the violated rights of the serviceman's family, a submission has been submitted to the command to eliminate the violations of the law regarding the implementation of social guarantees for the family members of the missing serviceman.
I thank the military prosecutor's office for the investigation and the prosecutorial action taken, which allowed the violated rights of the serviceman's family to be restored!
