We received an appeal to the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan on behalf of an elderly resident of Kazan, citizen S., who, due to her age and health condition, is already having difficulty coping with the care of her daughter, citizen E., who has been disabled since childhood.
The situation required immediate intervention, and we contacted the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan with a request to consider the possibility of sending an employee of the social protection department to the place of residence and organizing the placement of the daughter in a social service institution.
As a result of our joint work, a visit was made by specialists, during which citizen S. was assessed for her individual need for care for her daughter and explained the procedure for providing social services in the inpatient form of social services. After completing the procedure for processing documents, citizen E. will be accepted for social services in the appropriate institution.
