A ceremonial event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held at the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Musa Jalil.
The Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, speaking to the participants, expressed deep gratitude to the veterans and home front workers for their courage and dedication, noting that their feat will forever remain in the history of the country. A minute of silence was observed in memory of the fallen.
Special attention was paid to the role of Tatarstan as a rear center of the war years and the preservation of historical memory. This year, the city of Zelenodolsk was awarded the title of "City of Labor Valor", and 22 enterprises of the republic were awarded the title of "Enterprise of Labor Valor".
As part of the event, state awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan were presented to veterans, participants in the special military operation, as well as representatives of military commissariats. Public organizations contributing to patriotic work were also noted.
A festive concert was held at the end of the event. Before the official part, I met with delegations from the Alkeyevsky, Sabinsky and Almetyevsk districts in the theater foyer.
In addition, I congratulated the veterans present at the concert on the upcoming Victory Day. I expressed words of gratitude for their fortitude, courage and loyalty to the Fatherland. Such meetings are a reminder of the price of peace and the gratitude that we must keep in our hearts.
