In 2024, Tatarstan generated over 31 billion kWh of electricity, which is 10.8% more than the previous year. This is 3.7 times higher than the average growth in Russia. The data was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan on energy resource efficiency.
The main increase was provided by the Nizhnekamsk Hydroelectric Power Station (+30%) and the Zainsk State District Power Station (+25%). At the same time, electricity consumption in the republic increased by 5.1%, including 7.6% among the population.
Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin noted that since 2000, energy efficiency programs have been implemented in the republic, thanks to which the energy intensity of the GRP has decreased by 25.2%.
The meeting also discussed the modernization of energy equipment, the development of gas motor fuel and measures to support energy efficient projects. At the end, state awards and prizes in the field of energy conservation were presented.
