A lawyer E. contacted our Office on behalf of the convict S. regarding the failure of the administration of the Federal Penitentiary Institution "Penal colony No. 2" to provide responses to the lawyer's inquiries. In her requests, the lawyer requested a reference, a certificate of incentives and penalties, as well as information about the health of the convict S., but the responses were not provided within the timeframes established by law.
To protect the rights of the convict, we sent a request to the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Tatarstan. As a result of the prosecutor's inspection, it was established that the administration of Penal colony No. 2 did indeed violate the deadlines for providing responses with a delay of 10 and 5 days, respectively. In connection with this, the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Tatarstan submitted a submission to the head of the colony with a demand to eliminate the violations of the criminal-executive legislation. As a result of the measures taken, lawyer E. received all the requested documents.
