Today, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a visiting meeting of the Committee of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan on Education, Culture, Science and National Issues. A report on the activities of the Academy of Sciences for 2024 was presented, the implementation of the federal project "Advanced Engineering Schools" was also discussed, and draft laws on cultural heritage and religious associations were considered.
President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov noted that all the values of the state assignment for 2024 have been fulfilled, the dissertation councils of the Academy are working successfully, and the number of postgraduate students has increased. Moreover, the textbook "History of Our Region" for grades 5-7, developed by the Institute of History with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Tatarstan, is recognized as one of the best in Russia.
Special attention was paid to the scientific program "Tatars in the Service of the Fatherland", implemented by the Academy of Sciences as part of the Year of Defender of the Fatherland. The program is aimed at studying the contribution of the Tatar people to the formation, development and protection of the borders of the Russian state. As part of the program, an international scientific forum "The Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in the Fates of Nations and Regions" will be held in April this year.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan Andrey Pominov spoke about the project "Advanced Engineering Schools". It is aimed at supporting universities, creating specialized classes and laboratories. Since 2022, more than 5,000 schoolchildren have taken part in the career guidance projects of the "Advanced Engineering Schools" of Promkhimtech.
In addition, parliamentarians reviewed bills on cultural heritage and religious associations, developed to bring the republican legislation into line with federal standards.
