Today, a joint meeting of the Committee on Law and Order and the Expert Council was held in the State Council of Tatarstan. The issues of preventing terrorism and extremism were discussed, as well as bills on amendments to the republican law on representatives of the public in the Qualification Collegium of Judges and the Regulations of the State Council were considered.
Deputy Head of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan Dinar Karibullin reported on 53 terrorist crimes and 39 extremist crimes recorded in 2024. Criminal cases were initiated against three leaders of an international terrorist organization and six accomplices of Ukrainian terrorist organizations were identified. All detainees were taken into custody.
During the meeting, facts of involving teenagers in criminal activity under the influence of the "Columbine" ideology were also announced. Last year, five criminal cases were initiated under the article "attempted murder" - armed attacks on educational institutions in Kazan and Kukmor were planned.
In addition, the deputies reviewed a bill clarifying the requirements for public representatives in the Qualification Collegium of Judges and discussed a number of other issues on the agenda.
