Today, the final meeting of the Civil Registry Office of Tatarstan was held, where the results of 2024 were summed up and plans for 2025 were discussed. Elvira Akhmetova, Head of the Civil Registry Office of the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke about the region's achievements.

Tatarstan continues to hold a leading position in the Volga Federal District in terms of the number of newborns - 35.5 thousand babies were born last year. However, this figure has slightly decreased compared to the previous year - by 3.3%.

Of the total number of babies born, 39% were first-borns, 33% were second children, 19% were third, and 8% were fourth or more. The age of parents was most often 30-35 years for men and 25-29 years for women. Only a fifth of young couples decided to have a child in the first year of marriage. At the same time, the number of large families increased to 55.7 thousand.

Tatarstan also retains first place in the number of weddings - 23,683 weddings were held in 2024. Although this is less than in previous years: in 2023 there were 25.2 thousand, and in 2022 - 27.4 thousand. Most newlyweds are people aged 25-29 among men and 18-24 among women. It is especially worth noting that the age of the oldest groom was 89 years old, and the bride - 86 years old.

The number of divorces has decreased, although the figures are still high - 13.5 thousand separated couples. For every thousand marriages, there are 570 divorces.
