Yesterday held a day of legal assistance to convicts in penal colony 18 with the participation of invited specialists from various departments of the republic.
The day of legal aid in the penitentiary is a way to find out what problematic issues are of concern to citizens held in places of detention.
For example, we were approached with questions of medical nature, citizenship, receiving pensions, sending personal belongings to the place of stay, and others.
I always emphasize during the reception that every question has a story behind it, every appeal has a person behind it. For this reason, we listen attentively to everyone who came and do not leave alone with the situation.
During the reception repeatedly received words of gratitude to the administration, which is very encouraging to hear. It means that our work together with the Federal Service for the Execution of Punishments does not go unnoticed for the inmates.
After the reception I saw the residential sector of the colony: the dormitory and dining room, visited the punishment isolator. During the inspection I did not receive any complaints about the conditions of detention.
