Personal reception of prisoners sentenced to forced labor in correctional center No. 1
Today the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan held a personal reception of forced labor convicts in Correctional Center No. 1.
The correctional center is an excellent example of humanization of the system of execution of criminal punishments. Creation and functioning of correctional centers is a priority for the whole system of the Russian justice system. Correctional centers have a great role to play - socialization of convicts, prevention of recidivism, implementation of non-custodial sentences. The Republic of Tatarstan takes an active part in the project, providing a site for placement of correctional centers.
Two people applied to the reception and shared their problems. Having listened to them, recommendations were given as to what should be done in the current situation. During the reception the administration of the institution was recommended to provide the necessary assistance and support to those who applied.
