As the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin noted in his Address to the Federal Assembly in February 2023, “it is our duty to support families who have lost loved ones. The family of each participant of a special military operation should be in the zone of constant attention, surrounded by care and honor”.
In total, the Commissioner received 2,818 appeals and communications from servicemen, citizens subject to conscription and their relatives.
We were involved in resolving the following issues: payment of allowances to servicemen for wounds, lump sum payments upon conclusion of a contract for military service.
We worked closely with the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, T.N. Moskalkova, and also sent our appeals to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (60 letters).
With the assistance of the federal ombudsman, eight of our fellow countrymen managed to be included in the prisoner exchange lists and returned home.
