Visiting dormitories of Kazan (Volga) Federal University
Kazan (Volga) Federal University is one of the oldest Russian universities (founded in 1804) and one of the ten federal universities of Russia (since 2010).
According to official data, more than 14,000 students now live in dormitories of the Kazan Federal University. The KFU campus includes 31 houses (21 of which are the houses of the Universiade Village, 10 - Kazan). Today we managed to visit three hostels at once: hostel 4 (Red Position 2A), hostel 3 and 6 (Adela Kutuya, 2B).
In social networks, we saw posts and articles about the fact that university students complain about the presence of insects in the dormitory, but the representatives of the management were explained that by the beginning of the school year all the premises are processed routinely, if necessary - unscheduled treatments are carried out.
Hostel 4: The 1962 building was built, the outside hostel looks good. Shower in the hostel alone, working from 6:00 to 00:00 every day, with a break from 11:45 to 13:00. Each floor is equipped with kitchen, video surveillance. Some rooms really need repair. We did not find insects in the rooms.
Hostels 3 and 6: There is a major renovation of the premises, and students this academic year will visit a brand new hostel. Having familiarized today with the intermediate result of the repair, I want to say that the conditions here create excellent! The building was completely remodelled and "accessible environment" was provided for students with disabilities.
