Legal education work continues for students completing internships at the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Today, I met with law students from the Russian State University of Justice, Kazan Innovation University, and Kazan Federal University. I spoke to them about the activities of the Office of the Commissioner, how it handles citizen inquiries, and the communication channels through which it is conducted.
I also focused on our work in the area of legal education. We are currently implementing a number of projects:
In addition, we are developing legal education materials. These include a course of legal education lectures as part of the Decade of Disabled Persons, as well as video interviews with former convicts who have completed the rehabilitation program as part of the "Rehabilitation Squads" and successfully overcome addiction. In addition, various reference books and informational materials are being developed to help citizens better understand their rights.
The students thanked us for the meeting, actively asked questions, and expressed interest in the practical aspects of our work. It's gratifying to see students' interest in human rights work!
