Round table on current migration issues organized by the Assembly of Peoples of Tatarstan
The Republic of Tatarstan is a multi-ethnic republic, the territory of which for many centuries various peoples and ethnic groups have been living together.
In turn, the observance of the rights of foreign citizens and stateless persons is under our special control. My Public Assistant provides weekly consultations and assistance to foreign nationals and stateless persons in completing their documents. We regularly visit the temporary detention centre for foreign nationals and also take an active part in the discussion of current issues of compliance with migration legislation in our republic.
An employee of the Office of the Commissioner participated in the round table on current migration issues organized by the Assembly of Peoples of Tatarstan.
Chairman of the State Council, Chairman of the Assembly of Peoples of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin held the meeting.
The meeting was informed about the migration situation and the offences committed by foreign citizens in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as about changes in the norms of the legislation of the Russian Federation for the nationalcultural associations of the Assembly of Peoples of Tatarstan.
During the meeting, representatives of different peoples asked problematic questions that they face, requiring their resolution.
