Persons suffering from mental disorders have all the rights and freedoms of citizens provided for in the Constitution of the Russian Federation and federal laws.
Often, people with mental disabilities are among the most legally vulnerable categories of citizens, as in most cases they are unable to defend their rights, freedoms and legitimate interests independently, due to serious mental illness.
Today, an employee of the Office of the Human Rights Commissioner in the Republic of Tatarstan together with members of the Public Supervisory Commission of the Republic of Tatarstan visited the Republican Clinical Psychiatric Hospital named afterV.M. Bekhterev. The premises of the General Hospital were inspected usage, Rooms, exercise yards, eating rooms, checked the conditions of detention of patients and organization of their leisure. Patients were also interviewed during the visit. There were no complaints of poor living conditions or quality of food.
