Gala concert of the Republican ethnocultural festival "Our Home is Tatarstan"
The M. Jalil Tatar Opera and Ballet Theater hosted a gala concert of the Republican Ethnocultural Festival "Our Home – Tatarstan," dedicated to National Unity Day. The event was attended by Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counselor of the Republic of Tatarstan and Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin, and others.
Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the unity of peoples has always been the foundation of Russia's strength: "Unity is especially important in a situation where Russia's enemies are attempting to divide our society and cause discord among peoples on ethnic and religious grounds. And today in Donbas, as 80 years ago during the Great Patriotic War, our fellow countrymen are defending the country's sovereignty and security, resisting the threat of Nazism as part of a special military operation. The nationwide support for service members and assistance to their families is the best example of our unity."
As per tradition, the concert included a presentation of state awards. People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Fedotov received the Order of Merit "For Services to the Republic of Tatarstan." The title of "Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan" was awarded to Oleg Machin, soloist of the M. Jalil Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. Natalya Antonova and Gayane Parvanyan were awarded the honorary title of "Honored Teacher of the Republic of Tatarstan." Rustam Minnikhanov also presented Certificates of Gratitude from the Raisa of the Republic of Tatarstan and certificates for support of creative groups.
The "Our Home – Tatarstan" festival has been held since 2012 and unites residents of the republic, strengthening unity and spiritual enrichment between peoples. This year, over 4,000 people participated in the festival's regional tours.
