We held the Legal Aid Day for Convicts
Today, a Legal Aid Day for convicts was held via videoconference at the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan.
Representatives from the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Justice of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the Federal Penitentiary Service's Medical Unit No. 16 participated in the event.
Six people sought consultations. Their questions concerned disagreement with pretrial detention, as well as the possibility of replacing the unserved portion of their sentence with a more lenient one. All those who requested assistance received the necessary clarifications within the framework of current legislation.
Even while in prison, a person should not be deprived of the right to qualified legal assistance!
