I'm on a working visit to the Chelyabinsk Region. Today I visited one of the military units where about 40 young men from the Republic of Tatarstan serve.
I spoke with the servicemen - almost all of them have a vocational secondary education or incomplete higher education, many of whom had already worked at enterprises in Tatarstan before being drafted. I gave them gifts from my native Tatarstan - chak-chak, which always seem to evoke a special warmth and a smile.
During my visit, I also saw the living conditions of the young men: the unit has a large library, a swimming pool, an outdoor sports complex, and a club. Renovations are underway at the barracks, which will eventually house young recruits from all over our country. The unit also has a division history museum – new recruits are always introduced to it during their first days of service.
Our men are confident; we haven't received any complaints.
We regularly visit military units in various regions of Russia where our fellow countrymen from Tatarstan serve. These meetings are important for both the guys and us, so we can be there for them, understand the conditions they serve in, and be able to help if needed.
