Protecting the rights of conscripts is one of the most important tasks for the Commissioner

Today I'm on a working visit to the Samara Region, where I'll be visiting several military units serving conscripts from the Republic of Tatarstan. This practice has been in place since 2011.

As part of an internship at the Office of the Human Rights Commissioner of the Republic of Tatarstan, at the request of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, and as part of the federal program "Time of Heroes," the military unit is being visited jointly by Hero of Russia and State Council Deputy of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rasim Baksikov, and the Human Rights Commissioner of the Samara Region, Elena Lapushkina.

We met with the conscripts and the unit's command staff, spoke with the conscripts, and learned about their conditions of service. The unit has excellent conditions and a modern medical center, including a dentist.

It's worth noting that Tatarstan also has a program to support veterans of the "Batyrlar" military service, initiated by the Republic's Rais, Rustam Minnikhanov. It aims to promote veterans' career advancement in public administration. As part of the program, participants undergo training at the Kazan Federal University's Higher School of Public and Municipal Administration, followed by internships in state and local government agencies.
