Meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan
Today I took part in a meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan O.S. Abdullaev, which was held in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan under the chairmanship of Rais Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
The dialogue was very informative. The prospects for expanding cooperation in industry, education, culture and the humanitarian sphere were discussed. In recent years, interaction between our regions has increased significantly. According to the results of last year, trade turnover exceeded 376 million dollars.
Particular attention was paid to issues of interaction in the field of education and support of national cultures. Today, more than 2,700 students from Uzbekistan study at universities in Tatarstan, the national and cultural autonomy of the Uzbeks of Tatarstan is actively working.
At the meeting, they discussed prospects for further development of trade, economic and humanitarian ties, strengthening cooperation in mechanical engineering and petrochemistry, and the implementation of joint projects in the field of advanced technologies.
