Today we took part in the opening of the first "Probation Center" in Kazan based on the Resocialization Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Center began its work and was created within the framework of the implementation of the probation law, which has been in force in the country since 2023. The main objective is to help people released from prison to return to normal life, adapt to society and prevent re-offending.
The "Probation Center" has created decent conditions for a person to start life from scratch - accommodation is organized (12 beds), food is provided, assistance in finding employment is provided. This is not just a place of temporary stay - it is a support point for those who are truly ready to change.
We were especially impressed by the example that was shown to us during the opening: the story of a man who, after being released, found support here, got a job, started a family and found his place in society. The man shared that thanks to the Center, his attitude to life has completely changed, and he no longer associates his future with a dark past.
We agreed with colleagues on further cooperation. I believe that every person who decides to return to normal life should have a chance. And we should be the ones who help realize this chance.
