Today I gave a lecture to first-year students of the University of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation and students studying under the additional professional retraining program for prosecutors who are in the reserve of personnel for promotion to the positions of city, district and equivalent prosecutors of specialized prosecutor's offices. We discussed the work of the Institute of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan, its main tasks and mechanisms for protecting citizens' rights.
This year, the Institute of the Commissioner turns 25 years old. During this time, we have received more than 80 thousand requests - people increasingly trust us not only in matters of protection from illegal actions of government agencies, but also seek advice and support in difficult life situations.
We paid special attention to interaction with the prosecutor's office in the lecture. In February 2024, we signed a cooperation agreement, which helped us build even closer interaction. We jointly consider citizens' requests, go on inspections, and run hotlines. Of particular importance are the Days of Legal Aid to Convicts, which we organize on Saturdays together with representatives of the prosecutor's office.
The Commissioner's Office will continue to work in strong partnership with the prosecutor's office in the name of protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens!
