During the meeting of the Expert Council under the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan, Olga Silaicheva, a public assistant from Naberezhnye Chelny, presented a report on the key areas of her work and the problems faced by city residents.

Particular attention was paid to requests for protection of the rights of elderly people and people with disabilities. Olga Silaicheva gave examples of successful interaction with government agencies and public organizations, thanks to which assistance was provided to elderly citizens in a socially dangerous situation.

One of the key topics of the report was work with homeless citizens. The public assistant spoke about cases of their employment and placement in social adaptation centers. However, not everyone is ready to change their lives, which remains a serious challenge for human rights work.

In her speech, the assistant to the Commissioner paid special attention to the prevention of bullying among children and young people. In Naberezhnye Chelny, active work is underway to create a safe educational environment, seminars and practical classes are held for teachers, parents and schoolchildren.
